Voluntary Sector representatives work closely with partners to ensure that North Yorkshire's communities continue to thrive.  Simon Hills, CEX of the Forum, represents the voluntary sector on the Community Safety Partnership and the Prevent Board.

Community Safety Partnership

The Community Safety Partnership (CSP) brings together statutory responsible authorities, supported by other relevant organisations, to work together to enhance community safety. The CSP is supported by district based Local Delivery Teams (LDTs).
The CSP agrees the Joint Strategic Intelligence Assessment for North Yorkshire, and a three year Community Safety Partnership Plan, updated annually, for reducing crime and disorder in North Yorkshire. It also develops links and opportunities for collaborative working between the responsible authorities and other relevant organisations to deliver the most efficient and effective community safety services for the communities of North Yorkshire within available resources. It seeks to attract funding and resources from appropriate funding streams and/or organisations, and agrees the utilisation of that funding and other resources.

Prevent Board

Prevent is the name given to the Government’s strategy for combating terrorism. The Prevent Implementation Board for North Yorkshire and York comprises Chief Executives from a range of organisations, with a remit to provide information for the Counter-Terrorism Local Profile and to ensure that local groups for Prevent operate in our area. North Yorkshire and York is not a high-risk area, although we do border areas which have been designated as high risk.

Police & Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire

Julia Mulligan, North Yorkshire's Police & Crime Commissioner, works to ensure community needs are met as effectively as possible, and to improve local relationships with the police by building confidence and trust. Julia works in partnership across a range of agencies at local and national level to ensure there is a unified approach to preventing and reducing crime in North Yorkshire. Supporting Victims in North Yorkshire.
The Forum works closely with the Police & Crime Commissioner's Office to promote both the voluntary sector's needs and the work of the Police & Crime Commissioner within the community.
