SCARBOROUGH DIAL A RIDE WINS COMMUNITY TRANSPORT HEALTH PARTNERSHIP OF THE YEAR AWARD
At the recent Community Transport Association’s 25th anniversary awards dinner held at the Manchester Hilton, Dial A Ride were presented with the Community Transport Health Partnership of the Year award for their work with Scarborough Healthcare Trust.
Julie Banks said she was extremely proud to receive the award on behalf of all the volunteers and staff at Dial A Ride and that everyone at Dial A Ride works extremely hard to deliver a first class service to all passengers. “We are all over the moon at receiving this award, particularly when you think that it was open to the whole of the UK. We first started providing transport for Scarborough Healthcare Trust in 2007, and our working partnership has always been productive, patient led and beneficial to both organisations”.
She added that increasingly, Community Transport organisations are being called upon to deliver transport to health services. Although this can present challenges, it can also offer new and exciting opportunities for local voluntary groups such as Dial A Ride, to increase accessibility to healthcare and other vital local services.
A Trust spokesperson added "Dial A Ride provides a pivotal role to this Trust in the provision of transport arrangements which are accessed by our visitors/ patients and carer’s. Dial A Ride provides this service 365 days a year and this partnership provides a vital link to ensure we meet the communities travel requirements."
