Advocacy toolkit from Arts Council England

Arts Council England (ACE) has published its new advocacy toolkit to guide creative leaders of arts organisations in helping to influence the government's spending review.
In the autumn the culture department is due to unveil its planned spending cuts to the arts, which is why ACE is advocating that organisations across the country should publicly appeal the large cuts.It has called for leaders to send in their case studies, facts and figures to help to influence the department's decision.
The toolkit also provides information on how to publicise a group, through fully utilising social networking sites to getting in contact with the local MP.There is also a link to the council's press release templates for groups that do not have their own PR.
This will help to get the message of why the arts matter to the local media, using local arts organisations as an example.
Find out more from the Why the Arts Matter section of 'About Us' on the Arts Council's website or download the toolkit from the link below:

The toolkit can be downloaded from www.artscouncil.org.uk along with a guide to working with MP's and a sample press release.
