Advice Week 11-15 October 2010
Six national charities have again joined together to stage Advice Week: Advice Services Alliance, AdviceUK, Age UK, Citizens Advice, Law Centres Federation and Youth Access.
Parts of the Equality Act will be coming into effect in October, and therefore felt that this year’s theme should be discrimination. The posters are branded with the slogan: It’s not OK! Don’t put up with it – get advice. We really want to highlight the fact that discrimination isn’t acceptable.
Each national network has selected the issue that they would like to focus on under the topic of discrimination:
• AdviceUK – migrant workers
• Age UK – age discrimination
• Citizens Advice – hate crime
• Law Centres Federation – Equality Act
• Youth Access – young people’s rights.
Citizens Advice works with five other national advice charities to deliver a sector-wide celebration of advice. These are:
Advice Services Alliance - the umbrella body for independent advice services in the UK.
