Intro to Personal Safety for the Lone Worker, York 22-10-10

22-10-2010 (10:00 - 12:30)

"Personal Safety is freedom from attack or the fear of attack from others”. This session raises staff awareness of the importance of personal safety by exploring the risks they may encounter whilst working alone (working away from base, 1:1 meetings, working in a building alone, travel around the community, outreach work) and provides them with practical strategies to help anticipate, avoid, and reduce aggressive or violent situations. This session does not cover how to deal with aggressive situations or other aspects of health and safety such as accidents, chemicals etc.
