free workshop: Fit Notes, Stokesley 24-09-2010

In April ‘Sick notes’ were replaced by ‘Statutory Fitness for Work’ notes, referred to as ‘Fit notes’. The implications of this change are beginning to be seen in case law. The Employment Advice Service will be running a number of local workshops throughout September and October in

conjunction with your local support and development organisation (LSDO) (CVS’, CCA, AVS etc) on the new Fit Note procedure. The workshop will explain what fit notes are, how they differ from sick notes, the changing role of doctors and offer guidance on managing an employee’s return to work.  It will be approximately one and a half hours with a half hour optional surgery to follow and will be led by Jane Hudson, one of our team of HR Advisers. The workshop will be very participative.
